I love digital photography. I love having the freedom to experiment and try weird shit without having to worry about wasting my film. That being said, there is something that film offers me that digital will never be able to replace. Until recently, I’ve never been able to identify exactly what it is that I’m so instinctively drawn to. I mean, there is obviously a large sense of satisfaction and comfort I get from the nostalgia of looking at a snapshot. In addition to that, though, a type of contentment used to exist that no longer seems to in the modern age. There was a wider appreciation for a moment or a feeling. No one asked to be photoshopped to be skinnier, or younger, or wrinkle free. I long for that simple fulfillment.
